It appears that invasion attempts at the homes of fighters is becoming quite a common thing, as Chelsea Chandler has come out as the latest victim to suffer another such incident.
Chelsea Chandler shares details of her home burglary incident
The 14th ranked UFC women’s bantamweight contender ended the previous week on flying colours- courtesy of her unanimous decision victory over Josiane Nunes on the undercard of UFC Vegas 88 on March 16th in Las Vegas.
However, the week before the had gone very rough for the Stockton native. Aside from missing weight by one pound which made her contest against Nunes a 137-pound catchweight bout, Chandler reveals there was also a horrific home invasion attempt in the middle of the week.
“Oh God, we can get into it,” said Chelsea Chandler in a recent interview with MMA Junkie. “I’ve had the Week of Horror. My car was vandalized when I left my house. People tried to break into it. That was Monday. I’ve got that time of the month, too. So this has been… I was ready to go, and just little hiccups. I have it dialed in. My nutritionist, my weight, everything is good. So next time, I’ll be here on time, on weight, ready to go.”
“People say, ‘Hey this fighter is going to be gone. Let’s take advantage of it.’ It sucks, but (I’ve) got to get those cameras up,” she went on, “… I’ve got to let someone else move into my house when I’m gone and take care of it and babysit the house.”
A similar news made the headlines less that two weeks prior- when Marlon Vera revealed that a similar home burglary attempt took place at his residence in California while he was away for UFC 299.
