Chris Weidman suffered a major defeat against Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza this past weekend at UFC 230. The to-and-fro fight saw Souza come out on top in the third round via Knockout.
Though it was a huge defeat, Weidman is doing okay and is ‘good to go’ as per ESPN Journalist Brett Okamoto. Okamoto tweeted out the following conversation with Weidman a few days back.
Just spoke to someone who is with Chris Weidman … "Chris is good to go. We are drinking Bud Lite and eating pizza while his dad roasts everyone. All is well."

Weidman is now 14-4 in his career and was coming off a one-year layoff when he fought Souza. Prior to this, he had defeated Kelvin Gastelum at UFC on Fox 25 via an arm-triangle choke submission. This win against Gastelum was a huge boost for Weidman was he was on a three-fight winning streak at the moment having lost against Gegard Mousasi, Yoel Romero and Luke Rockhold respectively.
Interestingly, the loss against Rockhold was the first of his professional career as he was on a 13-fight winning streak before that which included wins over Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, and Demian Maia among others.
