Chris Weidman provides update on his broken leg: “Pain is getting way more tolerable while standing”

Chris Weidman

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman hasn’t been feeling well from the injuries sustained in his fight against Uriah Hall at UFC 261 in Jacksonville last month.

The first kick that Chris Weidman landed on Uriah Hall got checked and at that very moment his leg broke in half and the former champion fell face down on the canvas in antagonising pain.

The UFC medical staff came inside the cage and took him out on the stretcher to a local hospital in Jacksonville, where he successfully completed his surgery.

Chris Weidman gives update on his recovery

Chris Weidman has now provided fans with another update following his surgery. He said that he has been recovering well as the pain has been subsiding.

“Chris Weidman: Pain is getting way more tolerable while standing; thank God! The blood flows into my leg is still insane when I have to get up, as you can see the difference in colors. The doctor said because blood vessels and veins are damaged from the trauma, the blood has a hard time traveling back up the body, fighting gravity. Again thank you for all the love and support. Blown away. Ps. Don’t make this post about my toenails. I have been neglecting my feet the last 12 years of walking around mats all day barefoot. I just got a script of drops to put on nails. Hopefully, that helps #3weeksout #recovery #theallamerican,” Chris Weidman posted on Instagram.

Weidman has also been struggling inside the cage. He is currently 6-2 in his last eight fights. Prior to losing to Hall via TKO, he was coming off of a close unanimous decision victory over Omari Akhmedov at UFC Fight Night 174. Before that, he suffered back to back knockout losses to Dominick Reyes and Jacare Souza.

The MMA India Show wishes Chris Weidman a speedy recovery !!
