Colby Covington calls Tyron Woodley a communist after beating him at UFC Vegas 11

Colby Covington, after beating up Tyron Woodley for four-rounds and getting that TKO win in the fifth round went on to slam him in the post-fight press conference and called him a communist.

In the much-anticipated fight between former teammates and rivals, Covington went through Woodley and set the pace early by showcasing his wrestling and testing his former teammate’s takedown defense. After taking the fight to the ground, Covington was able to showcase his superior grappling as he looked to employ a pressure-filled game plan in an attempt to outwork Woodley.

On the feet, Covington wasn’t trying to overpower Woodley but instead, he used a signature volume striking attack. Again and again, Covington was the aggressor while closing the distance and pushing Woodley around the octagon.

Woodley did manage to land a couple of stiff right hands late in the second round but he just wasn’t attacking with a lot of ferocity as he accepted his position being stuck against the cage. When Covington wasn’t closing the distance, he was looking for a series of kicks while punishing Woodley to the body and then going back up top to the head. As usual, Covington’s pace was relentless and Woodley was struggling to get a separation or do much damage of his own.

During the fight, Woodley suffered a broken rib and in the fifth and final round when Covington slammed Woodley on the mat he couldn’t take the pain anymore and tapped out verbally.

Colby Covington says “Black Lives Matter is a complete sham”

During the UFC Vegas 11 pre-fight presser, Colby got into it with opponent Tyron Woodley about the Black Lives Matter movement.

And then at UFC Vegas 11 post-fight press conference, Colby was asked about calling Woodley a “domestic terrorist sympathizer” to which he replied “Because he is standing up for lifelong criminals,” Colby Covington explained. “You know the Black Lives Matter is a complete sham. It is a joke. They are taking these people. They are complete terrorists. They are taking these people that are criminals. You know, these aren’t people that are hard-working Americans. Blue-collar Americans. These are bad people. They are criminals, you know, and they shouldn’t be attacking police. You know if you are breaking the law and you are threatening the cops with weapons. You know, you deserve to get what you get.”

“Law enforcement protects us all. If you don’t have law enforcement it would be the wild wild west. So you know, people need to go and give a pat on the back to law enforcement every single day and thank them for keeping us all safe. Otherwise, you know all these criminals would be running the streets wild and none of us would be safe.”

Colby Covington then went on to say that Woodley supports criminal behaviour.

“Yeah, absolutely,” Covington said. “You know he is a communist. You know, he’s a Marxist. He stands for criminals. He hates America, and that’s why he got broke tonight.”

The rivalry between Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley is much more than being opponents they both have different mindsets towards things which causes more clashes.
