UFC 235 has added another world title fight as UFC welterweight champion Tyron ‘The Chosen One’ Woodley will defend his title against another top contender in his division Kamaru ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 2nd March.

Although, it was former interim champion Colby Covington who was supposed to fight for the title considering he has beaten Rafael Dos Anjos and Demain Maia before Usman did.

So Colby Covington appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA show and said that it doesn’t make sense as to why UFC would pick Usman over him to fight Tyron Woodley.

At the end, I didn’t get the title shot because you know…….. Politics. You want to pull the curtain back today, so we are pulling back the curtain“.

They made promises that I was going to fight Tyron Woodley in November at Madison Square Garden,” Covington said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “They made promises I was going to fight him January in California. Now all of a sudden I’m getting passed up for a guy behind me that has beaten my sloppy seconds?

It makes no sense to me. They are s—-ing on me; they are s—-ing on their fans. They are dulling their product.”

Asked by Helwani for a final message to the promotion, Covington closed with this.

F— you, UFC.”
