Interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington is all set to fight current UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman at UFC 245 which is all set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
However, Covington has already set his eyes at recently crowned BMF champion Jorge Masvidal. The Miami native won the BMF title last month at UFC 244 where he stopped Nate Diaz in the third round.
Covington recently appeared in an interview with BT Sport, where he talked about his upcoming fights and what a fight with Masvidal could mean.
“Everybody knows what’s next….it’s journeyman Jorge Masvidal AKA street judas,” Covington said when asked who’s he going to fight next after Usman.
“Nah,” Covington replied when asked if he was ever friends with Masvidal. “Looking back at it…Nah!!…we hung out a lot, we lived together…it was a one-way street, he was just using me for his training camp to help him with his wrestling…he didn’t have a good wrestler to help him prepare for his fights…you know he was just using me to help him…but really I would ragdoll him all the time and eventually he got jealous and we had to separate cos once I got the UFC title against Rafael Dos Nachos, he got jealous and bitter and money and fame got to him and now he is my enemy No. 1 and that’s a wrong place to be with a guy like me,” Covington said to BT Sport.
The pair have been beefing for a while now and insulting each other on Social Media. Both fighters used to be good friends in the beginning and even lived and trained together.
