Colby Covington wants to ‘mark’ Nick Diaz up in boxing

Colby Covington last fought in June where he defeated Rafael Dos Anjos to set up a title fight against Tyron Woodley, but the fight never came into fruition as Colby couldn’t fight him, and Woodley ended up fighting the next ranked contender who was Darren Till whom Woodley submitted in the second round.

Although Colby is a unique character in the welterweight division, he took a jab at another top personality in the division Nate Diaz, whom he called a women beater and a loser.

However, recently Colby Covington recently appeared on BJPenn radio where he talked about the prospect of fighting Nate Diaz:

I’M OVER IT AT THIS POINT. I KNOW NICK DIAZ DOESN’T WANT TO FIGHT ME. IF HE WANTS TO FIGHT, DUDE, I’LL PUT IN THE CONTRACT RIGHT NOW. WE COULD DO A BOXING MATCH. WE COULD DO ZUFFA BOXING. YOU WANT TO SET UP A BOXING MATCH? WE CAN DO A BOXING MATCH. I’LL MARK THAT GUY’S FACE UP. HE’LL NEVER FIGHT AGAIN. I’LL DO NO TAKEDOWNS. I DON’T NEED TO TAKE DOWN THAT LITTLE BUM.

HE’S PAST HIS TIME. HE’S OVER THE HILL. HE’S A JOKE. THAT’S EASY MONEY FOR ME. I DON’T EVEN NEED A TRAINING CAMP. IF HE WANTS TO, HE COULD TELL ME WHEN HE WANTS TO FIGHT, TRAIN FOR HIS WHOLE LIFE, DO WHATEVER AND TELL ME A WEEK BEFORE THE FIGHT AND I’LL SHOW UP. NO TAKEDOWNS.

STAND-UP, AND I’LL MARK THAT LITTLE BITCH’S FACE UP. IT’S A FIGHT THAT INTERESTS ME. HE TALKS A LOT OF SHIT. HE’S PUT UP SOME VIDEOS KIND OF TALKING SHIT ABOUT ME, BUT HE’S JUST DOING TALKING, MAN. HE AIN’T WALKING THE WALK LIKE I DO.

TO BE HONEST, NO, I DON’T BELIEVE HE WILL [COME BACK]. HE’S JUST USING THIS AS A PLATFORM TO GET ATTENTION. HE WANTS TO STAY IN THE MEDIA. HE WANTS TO KEEP HIS NAME HOT. MAYBE HE’LL GET SOME SPONSORSHIP DEALS FROM SOME WEED COMPANIES. BUT HE’S NOT GOING TO FIGHT, MAN. HE’S BEEN SAYING THIS SAME SHIT FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS. HE’S ALREADY CASHED OUT.”

Nick Diaz hasn’t stepped inside the Octagon in nearly three years and it’s unclear if he wants to fight in the UFC again.
