UFC 242 is going to be a historic PPV event as it will be only the UFC’s third visit to Abu Dhabi. It will feature a headlining title unification bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov the UFC lightweight champion and Dustin Poirier, the UFC interim lightweight champion. If the UFC resident Dana White is to be believed then the former UFC champ champ and Nurmagomedov’s rival Conor McGregor can show up at UFC 242 to confront the winner of the fight.
White in a recent interview given to Express said that he believes McGregor will show up to call-out or challenge the winner of the fight between Khabib and Dustin. Here’s what he had to say:
Yeah, he could, He could, possibly. He hasn’t said [if he will], I’m not [breaking any news]. He could, probably, show up to that fight. But I don’t know if he will. He hasn’t said anything to me. I honestly believe that in that region they like Conor McGregor too, I know they take things a little serious when stuff is said but Khabib won the fight. And I think it’s all just trash talk leading up to. Obviously Khabib and Conor, there’s no love lost. Those guys do not like each other. But it’s part of the business.
