Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson go back and forth on social media – big fight next up?

Tony Ferguson was recently told by Khabib Nurmagomedov that he had missed out on a chance when the bout for the Interim Lightweight Title was set up between Dustin Poirier and UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway.

Just when it appeared that Tony Ferguson had no plans for his next fight — unless it was to wait for the return of Khabib Nurmagomedov, the fighter has picked a fight on Twitter with the Notorious One.

In his first tweet, Tony Ferguson called out Conor McGregor for only being a ‘replica of a former self’. He said that he would test his ‘solid gold’ had on the chin of ‘No sauce McNuggets’.

Conor McGregor is not someone who takes things laying back, and his answer showed that. He said that they have the ability to go back and forth, but he wished him well as a colleague, and then addressed himself as ‘Burger King’.

While McGregor did not seem too interested in a fight with Ferguson, Ferguson was not letting up. He called Conor McGregor a Dairy Queen and called him a phony.

The two seem to be exchanging barbs, and while there are rumours of a McGregor – Nurmagomedov rematch, there could also be a fight between Ferguson and McGregor before Khabib returns from suspension.
