After the latest change to the official UFC rankings, former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has returned to the #1 ranked position. The UFC’s official news program, UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1, announced the new rankings shift during their live broadcast.
Before the change, McGregor was ranked #2 and Tony Ferguson was ranked #1, and Khabib Nurmagomedov is, of course, the title holder at the lightweight division. McGregor recently got cleared of all the charges for his criminal actions at the Barclays Center during UFC 223. He and his teammates trespassed into the building to retaliate Khabib, who had threatened Artem Lobov, a longtime friend and training partner of McGregor.

Today’s adjustment to the official UFC rankings is a clear indication that a Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight is being close to a reality. A fight between McGregor and Nurmagomedov can break PPV records and is going to be one of the greatest display of Mixed Martial Arts.
