A knife attack occurred at a Dublin school in Parnell Square on Thursday, injuring three children and two adults, two of whom were badly hurt.
Many on the scene took hold of the accused attacker and held him there until the cops came. The suspect, a 50-year-old man whose precise purpose for the attacks is yet unknown, was taken into custody by the authorities. The police are continuing their investigation in this regard.
Social media users soon began to disseminate rumors on his being a foreign national; these have not been verified. The police claimed that this incited extremist far-right political parties in Britain and Ireland to demonstrate against immigration to Ireland by taking to the streets.
One such well-known figure who has been charged with fanning the embers of strife and resentment is Conor McGregor.
“We are at war,” was one of McGregor’s several posts.
The Notorious has been quite active on social media in the last week, releasing these kinds of statements following the nationwide shock of the Ashling Murphy murder conviction.
Anti-immigrant demonstrators descended into Parnell Square following the school stabbing, and as the day turned into nighttime, violence broke out, particularly on O’Connell Street.
Thirteen stores were robbed, two buses and one tram were burned, eleven police cars were damaged, several officers were hurt—one critically—and thirty-four persons were taken into custody as a result of the rioting.
According to Irish Police Commissioner Drew Harris, radicals on the far right were responsible for these acts.
“What we saw last night was an extraordinary outbreak of violence. These are scenes we have not seen for decades,” he told a press conference.
“We have seen an element of radicalization that is damaging to our society.”

Conor McGregor, on the other hand, was eager to throw gasoline to the flames by expressing an opinion about the appropriate penalty for the accused assault.

“Torture and death” McGregor tweeted.
“Innocent children were mercilessly stabbed by a mentally disturbed foreigner in Dublin today…. There is a grave danger among us in Ireland that should never be here in the first place, and no action has been taken to support citizens in any way with this terrifying event.
“Ireland for victory. God bless those attacked today, we pray.”
