Conor McGregor, the former UFC double champion, was forced to withdraw from his UFC 303 main event fight against Michael Chandler due to a broken toe. However, during a recent MMA event in Ireland, McGregor candidly discussed his treatment options and how they might have impacted his recovery.

Stem Cell Therapy Experiment

In an effort to expedite his potential recovery timeline, McGregor experimented with Stem Cell Therapy. Doctors injected Stem Cells directly into the broken toe, hoping to accelerate healing. Additionally, they applied the treatment to his shoulder. While the shoulder treatment proved successful, the toe treatment left Conor McGregor uncertain. He described his now-injected broken toe as resembling “the way the chicks put filler in their face.”

“I’m in recovery mode, it’s three weeks ago to the day and I’m still here rocking around in the slippers – they’re not bad slippers thankfully, they’re cozy enough but I can’t [even] get into a shoe yet.

“They put Stem Cells – I’ve done everything that they asked – they put Stem Cells into me, took it from my back and put it in my foot, 20mg Stem Cell from my own back from the bone marrow in. Right into the break.”

Uncertain Outcome For Conor McGregor After Stem Cell Therapy

Although it remains unclear whether the experimental treatment improved or worsened his injury, Conor McGregor remains hopeful. He expressed concern about potential swelling caused by the Stem Cells but emphasized that he is taking recovery day by day.

“And then there was a little bit left over, so I said, ‘Yeah lob it into my shoulder, it feels a bit sore’ and my shoulder is actually feeling amazing – that Stem Cell’s good stuff, eye-opener…

“But my f***** toe is sore mate, and I don’t know if the Stem Cell’s into the break was the right move.”

The recovery period for McGregor’s broken toe is still uncertain, but fans are eager to see him back in action. As the UFC community awaits further updates, McGregor’s willingness to share his experience sheds light on the challenges faced by athletes during injury recovery.
