Many believe that Conor McGregor was much more explosive and dominant in 2015 and 2016. However, he himself thinks differently.

He was asked if fans were correct when they compared this trilogy fight to his rematch at UFC 202 with Nate Diaz. Conor McGregor was also asked if he considered himself the most intimidating in the all-out battle in a recent interview to TheMacLife prior to his UFC 264 Trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

Conor agreed, but he noted that there is a great difference between the two fights. The number of kill shots is the major difference that he now has up his sleeve compared to when he was preparing for Nate Diaz. McGregor said the following:

“The only difference between the Nate Diaz fight and this fight is that I am throwing kill shots now. Every shot I have thrown in this camp is a kill shot. So, yeah, that’s it. I am gonna kill this man.”

Defeated at the hands of Nate Diaz at UFC 196 for the first time, Conor McGregor returned back stronger than ever in a five-month rematch. The Irishman faced the native of Stockton at UFC 202 in one of the most anticipated fights in promotional history and settled the score by the majority of the votes.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor’s rivalry with Nate Diaz remains one of the most legendary in the UFC. The inveterate rivalry with Dustin Poirier has become personal for the former two-time UFC betting champion.

Conor McGregor has earned all the money and fame that he could of this sport. However, revenge for his first knockout loss is the biggest motivator for him to put it all on the line against Dustin Poirier for the third time. Plus, Conor McGregor may obtain the title shot if he manages to beat Dustin in the fight scheduled on the 10th of July at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

When it comes to title fights, the UFC sometimes makes conflicting statements. Just a while ago, the promotion decided to call up Derrick Lewis against Cyril Gein for an interim heavyweight title. Although, Francis Ngannou became the new champion only three months ago.

UFC president Dana White stated it was definitely a possibility when he commented on the aftermath of Conor McGregor’s fight against Dustin Poirier. However, it’s still not definite.

Conor McGregor reported that he plans to fight for the 155-pound belt during the Christmas holidays this year. His dream is to become the 12th UFC lightweight champion.
