Say ‘ding, ding’ in Dublin accent: Conor McGregor’s latest feud against Nate Diaz takes a lengthy route on Twitter

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor’s trash talks and verbal feuds aren’t only limited to press conferences or weigh-ins, as the former UFC double champion is also well-versed when it comes to social media, and his latest target is an old foe- Nate Diaz.

The two have clashed against each other inside the Octagon twice in the past, with both Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor picking up a victory each. Their first encounter dates back to UFC 196 in March 2016, when Diaz picked up a submission victory.

McGregor eventually avenged his loss at UFC 202 five months later, this time, securing a win via majority decision. While this saga became one of the most sought after in the MMA community, there was no hint on a trilogy fight between the two in the next five years until now.

Interestingly, McGregor is seemingly trying to reignite the old fuel he had with Diaz in the past. The Irishman, who has suffered back to back losses against Dustin Poirier this year and has been on a recovery from a broken leg, recently took to Twitter to take a shot at the Stockton native.

McGregor posted a photo from his UFC 202 pre fight face off against Diaz, along with the caption, “Now add 30lb of muscle on to me and say ‘ding, ding’ in Dublin accent.”

Diaz was not the one to stay silent against his old foe’s shenanigans, as the 36-year-old had a fiery response to McGregor’s tweet, asking the “Notorious” to take it to the cage rather than the verbal clash.

“Bruh u can’t walk or fight right now why u talkin shit? we talk later”, Diaz posted.

McGregor had his response ready as well, commenting on Diaz’s post, Who can’t? Come thru and see you little skinny fool you be smacked up and rolled up you bum. Calis mine.”

The back and forth went on with Diaz following up with a series of tweets.

McGregor had some of his own inputs as well.

From saying that he ended McGregor’s career, Diaz also insisted that he was ready for the third fight after McGregor recovers from his leg injury- which Diaz estimates to take about four years.
