Conor McGregor is full of confidence in facing Michael Chandler, so much so that he’s not only predicting a win over his former TUF opponent coach, but also makes a funny comparison between his opponent’s training regime, and his own.

The double champ is well known to be one of the best trash talkers in the fight game, finding every possible opportunity to disparage his rival and aside from the press conferences, stretches it to social media to slander his entrants, and the latest is aimed at “Iron”.

A recent chip which McGregor shared on X.com, shows Chandler going through some hard training drills in the gym on one hand and on the other, “The Notorious” is seen dancing and enjoying with some booze in his hand.

The clip then cuts to an edited sequence where McGregor and Chandler are seen fighting in the Octagon (taken from separate fights, of course) and it ends with McGregor landing a left hook to knock Chandler out.

Conor McGregor announces comeback fight vs. Michael Chandler at middleweight

With the start of the new year, McGregor finally dropped a major update regarding his much awaited return to the UFC, that is, the former Featherweight and Lightweight champ will be locking horns against Chandler at an UFC event on June 29 during International Fight Week. He also added that the bout will take place at middleweight.

“Ladies and gentlemen, a Happy New Year to you all,” said McGregor in the clip. “I’d like to announce the return date for myself, the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor, the greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for International Fight Week, June the 29th… and the opponent, Michael Chandler. And the weight, Mr. Chandler, 185 pounds.” [H/T MMA Fighting]

While the fight is yet to be officially announced by the promotion, the excitements are already high with McGregor himself making the announcement.

In no time, there was a response from Chandler. The former three time Bellator lightweight champ and a former UFC lightweight title contender, affirmed McGregor’s comments and agreed to fight him at 185.

“I always said I wanted you at your biggest, your baddest and your best. 185 would look good on me,” Chandler wrote.
