Conor McGregor may indulge in different kinds of gimmicks to get into his opponents head prior to fighting, but his discipline inside the octagon and the way he honors his opponent after the fight clearly reminds us of a battle-tested Samurai who maintain some high-level warrior ethos.

The Samurai code or Bushido is a Japanese term for the many codes of honor and ideals that dictated the samurai way of life. The “way” originates from the samurai moral values, most commonly stressing some combination of sincerity, frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor until death.

Humble in victory Gracious in defeat

It has been more than one year since Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor met inside a boxing ring in Las Vegas. Conor hasn’t stepped into the octagon or a ring after that. He passed through probably one of the most difficult times of his life in the meantime. McGregor and his teammates had trespassed into Barclays to retaliate the Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov after he threatened Conor’s longtime friend and training partner Artem Labov.

The Irishman, who threw a dolly at the bus filled with UFC fighters during the UFC 2232 melee was booked under Criminal Mischief and Misdemeanor Assault for injuring the fighters and vandalizing public property. He was released on a bail amount of $50,000 after some serious litigation.

Conor and his Irish Squad are literally in a war situation with the Dagestani fighting Squad lead by Khabib. They will face each other on October 6th, 2018 at T-Mobile Arena in the Las Vegas. This fight will go into history as the biggest grudge match in combat sports and will most likely be the biggest MMA event of all time.

Conor McGregor needs to stop the Khabib train to get his retribution for the irreverence exhibited by the Dagestani men against him and his team. And the D-Day is just a month away. His recent social media post clearly shows his mental and physical preparedness for the biggest battle of his career. He has invoked the Samurai Spirits yet again to prove the world wrong.
