Before Conor McGregor became popular by conquering the UFC by becoming the double champ, he used to fight at a regional European MMA promotion called Cage Warriors.
He was a double champ at the Cage Warriors as well. He won titles in the featherweight and lightweight divisions. He has always been a flashy fighter, delivering highlight-reel knockouts with his incredible left hand.
He has been fighting top contenders since his Cage Warriors days. Back in 2012, Conor McGregor fought Ivan Buchinger (37-7-0) at CWFC 51 in Dublin, Ireland.
In this fight, McGregor knocked out Buchinger in the first round. However, the part which caught the eyes of most MMA fans was the unconventional kick he landed on Buchinger.

A fan tagged Conor McGregor and asked what this particular kick was. The Irishmen was kind enough to take his time to explain what the kick was called.
I titled this shot the “Flatley”
In honour of Ireland’s famed Riverdance.
A little bang of the Flatley to tear the medial ligaments of the inside knee joint.
Tasty. https://t.co/qnqJcoFsia— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 8, 2020
