Conor McGregor, the former two-weight UFC champion, recently shared his thoughts on a potential fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall. Following Jon Jones’ third-round TKO victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, the MMA community has been buzzing with anticipation for a unification clash with interim titleholder Aspinall.

Conor McGregor’s Advice to Jon Jones

During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, McGregor offered some advice to Jones, suggesting that he watch footage of Aspinall’s sparring session with reigning GLORY heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven. McGregor commented, “That footage of him looking woeful vs. Rico Verhoeven is good footage to watch for Jon. I’ve warmed to this matchup, I think it should happen.”

McGregor’s advice comes as Jones has expressed interest in a potential superfight against reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, while UFC CEO Dana White remains focused on bringing the highly anticipated bout with Aspinall to life.
