Former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion Conor McGregor is interested in fighting his comeback fight against the current UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in 2022. Charles Oliviera is coming off an impressive title defense against the no.1 ranked lightweight contender Dustin Poirier at UFC 269. After losing the first round on the feet and getting picked apart by Poirier, Oliveira came back and dominated him in the second round on the ground before submitting him in the third round via standing rear-naked choke. Now just two days after his win over Poirier, Charles Oliveira already has a number of challengers waiting for him and one of them is the former two-division champion, Conor McGregor.
Conor has called for his title shot via Twitter as he posted a tweet asking for the timeline of when he would be fighting for the title against Charles Oliveira.
So what date am I fighting Oliveira?

Conor McGregor last fought at UFC 264 against his arch-rival Dustin Poirier. Dustin Poirier won that fight by TKO via Doctor Stoppage. Conor had a tough time in the first round of the fight but what followed changed the course of the fight. Conor in the last moments of the first round broke his feet which resulted in doctor stoppage. Conor McGregor is now recovering from that injury and has stated that he would be returning soon.
“I’m facing whoever the fuck has that LW title next,” Conor McGregor wrote in a tweet. “Deal with it. Take off your goggles and mark the trilogy ‘unfinished’. Deal with that too. The rest mentioned, after this. Deal. With. It”
Charles Oliveira on the other hand is not going to back away from any challenge and is looking to stay the champion for a long time and build his legacy.
“I don’t care,” Oliveira told reporters, including MMA Media, through an interpreter following his latest title defense. I don’t care what people think. I don’t care what they say.
“I mean, look at what they’ve been saying about me. So they say I can’t take hits. Look at what I’ve been doing. They say I quit. Look at what I’ve been doing. So I’m just going to continue to do what I do.”
“I want to make history,” Oliveira said. “I want to build a legacy.”
Do you guys think UFC should make Conor McGregor vs Charles Oliveira fight next?
