Conor McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh on Joe Rogan podcast revealed that Conor McGregor could once again come in a boxing ring. But Conor doesn’t want to fight Floyd under special striking rules.
He said, ”There are all sorts of crazy rumours going around the management team and the fight team about what might happen next.”
“It could be boxing, it could be him (Malignaggi), it could be Floyd.
“All sorts of names are being thrown about.”
He also told there are bizarre-sounding rumours regarding a potential ‘hybrid rules’ rematch with Floyd Mayweather have also been floating around over the past 12 months.
On being asked about hybrid rules, Kavanagh said, ”That’s being talked about. I’d heard about this, speaking with Conor and speaking with his manager.”
“(It would be) he could only throw leg kicks.”
“Conor absolutely doesn’t want to do that, he wants to fight UFC rules or boxing rules. Zero interest in the ‘hybrid fight.”
“I think Floyd’s a very intelligent guy, he’s not going to do that.”
John Kavanagh also said that Conor McGregor can have a rematch with Floyd Mayweather or probably a fight with Paulie Malignaggi. Although Conor’s priority is a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
