Conor McGregor unloads on MMA referee Marc Goddard, who replies in a classy manner

It’s no secret that Irish MMA superstar and former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has some kind of problem with referee Marc Goddard.

Back in 2017, McGregor stormed the cage of Bellator 187 to celebrate the victory of his teammate Charlie Edward who had beaten John Redmond. This resulted in McGregor getting separated by referee Marc Goddard, which infuriated the Irish star and he pushed the Goddard while slapping another Bellator official.

However, it wasn’t the only time McGregor has had issues with Marc Goddard. Back in 2012, in a cage warrior event, McGregor fought England’s Dave Hill. Goddard was serving as one of Hill’s cornermen and was acting very unprofessionally. Conor took to Twitter to remind everyone of that incident.

“What a great milestone in Irish MMA’s history! The behaviour of Britain’s Marc Goddard in the corner that night was horrendous. Burst into the cage and attacked referee Neil Hall in between rounds. The fight was still in play! Crazy behaviour for an up and coming referee! Anyway”–  Conor McGregor tweeted.

It didn’t take long for Marc to respond about that incident and he replied in a pretty classy manner.

Hi Conor, been a while!” said Goddard. “I refereed your very next fight after that when you became champ champ for the 1st time remember! Congratulations on all your business success inside & outside of the game that you helped change forever! Hope to see you fight again soon. Slàinte!
