This is Donald Cerrone’s biggest fight of his career. He is coming off two back to back knockout losses. In his last fight, he was knocked out in the first round by Justin Gaethje at UFC Fight Night 158. Before that he lost to Tony Ferguson at UFC 238 in June earlier this year. His last win came against Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 151 in May. Cowboy has been extremely active this year as he has fought four times.
When Cerrone takes on McGregor in January next year, he would have fought five times in a span of 12 months.
McGregor, on the other hand, hasn’t won a fight inside the Octagon in over three-years. His last win in the UFC came against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 20t5, where he won the fight via TKO in the second round. His last fight against Khabib at UFC 229 generated a record 2.4 Million PPV buys.
