The fans were shocked to find out that Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson has suffered an injury and has been forced to pull out of the upcoming title bout at UFC 223. No one was expecting it and everyone was left with a sigh of disbelief. Fighters and pundits too were deeply shocked and voiced their opinions about the cancellation of the fight. However, it’s safe to say that the UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s reaction was particularly hilarious and eye-catching.

McGregor’s reaction was incredibly hilarious!

McGregor had won the title in a highly dominating fashion against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. He had knocked out the former champion in a brutal way via punches in the second round. However, he hasn’t fought in the octagon ever since and has never even once defended his title in more than one and a half year.

Conor McGregor last fought and defeated Diaz at UFC 202 via unanimous decision. He then went on to challenge former UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez for his title. “The Notorious” defeated Alvarez via TKO in the second round at UFC 205. However, he has been on a hiatus from MMA ever since and instead went on to have a much discussed boxing match with the legendary Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather had a multi-million dollar boxing match last summer. “The Notorious” had lost the bout via TKO in the tenth round. Although, he did receive a lot of praise for his valiant effort against arguably the greatest boxer of the current generation.

He had also claimed that he would be ready to step in and replace any of the two headlining fighters if needed. However, according to some claims made by Nurmagomedov he refused, when he was offered the fight by the UFC. “The Eagle” will now instead face the current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway for the undisputed UFC lightweight title in the new main-event for UFC 223.

“The Notorious” is known for his wit and epic quotes which have gone viral. He is also highly famous for his social media banter. Below is what he tweeted about Ferguson pulling out of the fight:
