Rachael Ostovich will now face fellow strawweight contender Paige VanZant at UFC Fight Night 143 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on 19th January. She was recently attacked by her husband Arnold Berdon in Honolulu, Hawaii.

She had suffered a broken orbital bone, according to a report from TMZ. The 27-year-old flyweight is currently hospitalized for major injuries, including a broken orbital bone. Arnold Berdon was arrested this Tuesday on a charge of attempted murder which was later changed to a second-degree assault charge.

Although this is a very difficult time for me and my family, I felt like this fight in January was important,” Ostovich told Khon2 in Hawaii. “I felt that it was extremely important to me to follow through with it. Not only for me but first for my daughter and other people that might be going through similar situations.

I want to take a stand against domestic violence and show others that it’s OK to come out and speak about it and not be quiet. I feel like I have to do this. This is something that can’t be taken away from me.

Although, Ostovich’s manager initially announced that she has withdrawn from her fight, but she said that her orbital bone injury will heal just in time.

Don’t let anyone or anything come between you and your dreams and your career,” she said.
