Two-time UFC title challenger Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone is coming off of an impressive TKO victory over rising contender Alexander Hernandez at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on the UFC Fight Night 143: Cejudo vs Dillashaw undercard last month.
Ever since that victory, Cerrone has teased a fight with the former two-division UFC champion and Irish superstar Conor McGregor. Although UFC president Dana White has insisted that there’s no chance of Cowboy fighting McGregor despite huge public interest.
For a fight like that Donald, I’ll fight you.
Congratulations.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 20, 2019
In fact, most recently speaking to TMZ, Dana White said that this fight is not even close to being finalized.
“Not true,” White said. “It’s not even close to being done.”
However, Donald Cerrone took to social media to tease the date for his upcoming fight.

“April 13 or July 6th just waiting to ” Cerrone said on Instagram.
Although it’s doubtful that the fight will take place on April 13 which is the sceduled date for UFC 236, considering Israel Adesanya will take on Robert Whittaker for the interim UFC middleweight title.
Meanwhile, July 6 is the date when this year’s international fight week is expected to take place. It is expected that UFC 239 will take place around this time.
Conor McGregor is serving a six-month suspension for his involvement in the post-fight brawl which took place at UFC 229 in Las Vegas. His suspension is supposed to be over by April. So he should be all clear to fight Cerrone if the UFC makes that match-up.
