Cris Cyborg vs. Felicia Spencer in the works for being finalised for UFC 240

Felicia-Spencer

Putting all the speculations to rest, it seems Cris Cyborg is ready to return to the UFC after her incredible 13 year unbroken streak ended six months earlier. Sources are reporting that a fight between Cyborg and Felicia Spencer is close to being finalised for UFC 240.

After losing the featherweight belt to Amanda Nunes, there were rumours that Cyborg was upset with the UFC as she didn’t get a post fight speech. People speculated that she might opt out of her contract despite having two fights left on it. However her coach confirmed that she would make a comeback.

Her proposed opponent, Spencer, is an upcoming and undefeated prospect who upset Megan Anderson in her UFC debut earlier this month. After beating Anderson, Spencer had called out Cyborg. The latter accepted the challenge on social media. Spencer is also a former Invicta FC champion. Despite her spotless record, fighting against Cyborg would mark a big jump for her.

UFC 240 is headlined by a featherweight championship bout in the men’s division between Frankie Edgar and Max Holloway. Cyborg and Spencer would hopefully fight in th co-main event.

UFC 240 takes place July 27 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
