Bellator women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg has stated that she would love to fight fellow former UFC fighter Cat Zingano next. Cris Cyborg is enjoying her amazing run in the Bellator’s featherweight division. After having a dispute with the UFC regarding her contract Cris decided to step back from the promotion and explore the other side of the MMA promotion and she found her new home at Bellator. On September 3, 2019, it was announced Cyborg had signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator MMA. In her first fight Cris become the Bellator featherweight champion.
Cris Cyborg is 4-0 in Bellator since her debut, she has already defended her title three times in Bellator and now is in the need of new opponents to challenge her for her featherweight title. Though the Bellator’s women’s division is not that stacked, Cris has still set her eyes on a fighter which she feels can be a good matchup for her.
Cris Cyborg in her latest conversation took the name of fellow UFC fighter Cat Zingano. Cat Zingano was the first to call out Cris on Twitter and then Cris responded to her call out by accepting the fight.

“I don’t pick who I want to fight, but you threw that and if it happens, it happens,” Cyborg said. “Cat Zingano is a great fight. The girl beat Amanda Nunes, the last one to beat Amanda Nunes, and she’s undefeated in Bellator, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to fight her.”
“It’s nice when I have a quick turnaround,” Cyborg said. “Just rest a little bit then back to training again. It’s very nice, it’s a long camp, but I train everyday. So if I train everyday, it’s not just training for the camp. I train everyday, so when it’s close to the fight, I just make a plan on how the fight is gonna work, the game plan of the fight.”
Cat Zingano announced on October 29, 2019, that she has finally signed with Bellator after being released by the UFC. She entered Bellator while being 1-4 in her last five UFC fights. But she was successful in changing the momentum after getting into Bellator. In her promotional debut, Zingano faced Gabby Holloway at Bellator 245 on September 11, 2020. She won the fight via unanimous decision. In her second fight for the promotion, she fought Olivia Parker at Bellator 256. She won the bout via first-round armbar submission.
