Cub Swanson is about to go to battle at UFC Fight Night 151 when he takes on Shane Burgos in Ottawa. However, before that, he took time on media day to address his teammate, TJ Dillashaw’s drug use. Cub Swanson may be on the same team as TJ Dillashaw, but he had to find out about his drug use in the same manner as the rest of the world.

In March, it was announced that Dillashaw had relinquished his title. This came after there were adverse findings in Dillashaw’s drug test results from his fight against Henry Cejudo. Later, he was handed a two-year suspension from the Octagon due to his results.

Swanson talked about how the actions of Dillashaw had resulted in the whole team being accused of things which were far from true. He did, however, reveal that the team had forgiven him for it.

“It was quite a shock, because as far as our team, we have standards and stuff like that about being honest and going through stuff. But he’s still a part of our team, and it’s a decision he made. We forgive him for it. It’s unfortunate.”

He said that people could think what they want and revealed that he had been tested for drugs more during the camp for this fight than other times. However, he didn’t mind, because he did not use anything anyway.

“He feels terrible about the whole situation, and the talking’s been pretty minimal (between him and I) because I was training for this fight. But we’re working past it. I think it did (shine a negative light on the team). But people can think what they want. I got drug tested more this camp, which is fine. I’m for more drug testing because I don’t do any of that – it doesn’t bother me.”

Swanson will be looking to come out of his losing streak this Saturday at UFC Ottawa.
