UFC welterweight Mike Perry is scheduled to compete at UFC on ESPN 12 card taking place on June 27 at the UFC’s Apex Center in Las Vegas.
He will be fighting fellow welterweight Mickey Gall. However, ahead of the fight, Perry seems to have been injured himself as he took to social media to share images of different cuts in his fists and face.
While the cuts to the face do look deep, Mike Perry has assured fans that the fight will go ahead on June 27 regardless of the cuts.

“Fight is still on next week,” Perry wrote on the Instagram caption.
Mike Perry is coming off of a two-fight losing streak against Geoff Neal and Vincente Luque. In his last fight against Neal, he was knocked out in the first round at UFC 245.
On the other hand, this will be Mickey Gall’s first fight in nearly 10-months. He last fought against Salim Touahri at UFC on ESPN 5, last august. In that fight, he defeated Polish fighter via unanimous decision.
Ever since Gall made his UFC debut back in 2016, he has won the fight against the likes of lesser experienced fighters like CM Punk, Sage Northcutt etc. Gall claimed that his kidneys had shut down from a strict and bad weight cut.
Why didn’t Mike Perry drop down to lightweight?
Earlier this year, Mike Perry stated in an interview that he wanted to drop down to lightweight for health reasons.
“For performance reasons and health reasons, if I can do it healthily and live more healthy, which I’ve been doing the total opposite of that, it’s kind of funny. I’m always in good shape no matter what’s going on, but sometimes I have pains and injuries, it’s almost like it takes my breath away. Some people might confuse that for cardio but I’m in great shape. Cardio is mental, it’s how you run your system, you have to know how much fuel you have, you can’t be putting it all on the gas. I’m just thinking about fighting like always, man,” Perry said.
