Earlier this month at UFC 242 which took place in Abu Dhabi, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defended his title by submitting interim champion Dustin Poirier in the third-round via rear-naked choke.
After the win, Khabib swapped t-shirts with Dustin Poirier so that Poirier could sell it and raise money for the Good Fight foundation whose aim is to help serve the Batwa Pygmy children after a torrential flood that recently ruined the only water source at their school and orphanage.
Khabib himself had said that he would sell Poirier’s shirt and raise money for the Good Fight Foundation. Today the former interim champion took to Social Media to announce that he UFC president Dana White has also matched Khabib’s donations as he had previously said during the UFC 242 post-fight press conference.
Just got off the phone with @danawhite he is matching Khabib's donation to the @TheGoodFightFDN !!! I'm so grateful for the love and support! Thank you all!!!

Last night he gave an interview to Ariel Helwani on his MMA show, where he revealed that Khabib raised a lot of money from the Reebok Shirt.
“I had no clue he was gonna do that. He raised a lot of money. It was the biggest donation we’ve ever had with the foundation,” Poirier told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN.
“We’re gonna do great things, he’s gonna help a lot of people out with his donation. It’s incredible to see fighters donate things, just the growth the foundation has had in the last year and a half. I’m really grateful, those things make me smile.
