UFC 229 will remain in history books not only as Khabib’s win over Conor but also for what happened after the fight. Many fighters and fight fans are not happy about the brawl that happened after the fight got over.
Remembering the UFC 229 post-fight melee, UFC President Dana White said, “I’m just disgusted and sick over it. God knows what the commission is going to do to Khabib and his guys.”
He then added, “We had meetings with both teams before the it was during the Ovince Saint Preux vs. Dominick Reyes fight. We did another meeting with them on what’s going to happen. I was going in the Octagon and nobody else until I felt like we had control and I would determine who could come in and who couldn’t. Everybody signed off and everybody was cool.”
“The guys who jumped in will never fight here,” said Dana White to the reporters. “They’ll never fight here. I’ve been working hard for 18 years to build this sport. When you have such an amazing event that we’ve worked hard to build over the last several months and it goes perfect, I mean literally it was too eerie.”
Dana White also compared the incident with the second Tyson-Holyfield fight.
Dana said, ”Listen, I was at the Tyson-Holyfield fight when that thing was crazy,”
Appreciating the security Dana also that the security did a good job of stopping the brawl.
