Former welterweight title challenger from the United Kingdom, Darren Till is all set to fight Kelvin Gastelum on November 2 at UFC 244 which is scheduled to take place at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Fans have given the UFC a lot of flake for making this fight as Till is coming off of a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC London in March earlier this year. Before that he lost in a welterweight title fight against Tyron Woodley in September last year.

Now UFC president Dana White has explained the reason behind booking this fight in an interview with MMA Fighting.

We did [talk to him about it], he said ‘that’s the fight I want’. We went to him and said ‘are you sure this is the fight you want?’,” White said. “He’s moving up, are you sure Gastelum is the fight [you want]?

He says that’s the fight I want. Love it.”

Earlier this month, Till had said that he didn’t care which weight class he fought or whichever fighter he fought as he was ready for all of them.

I haven’t thought about it much, Let’s do middle, let’s do welter—let’s do every f*cking weight because at the end of the day I’m really not scared of any man.” (H/T – BloodyElbow.com)
