Dana White explains rationale behind moving TJ vs Cejudo from UFC 233

The flyweight title fight between reigning Flyweight champ Henry Cejudo(13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw (16-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC)which was scheduled to be at the UFC 233 card on Janauary 26th has got it’s new location and date.

The Cejudo vs Dillashaw fight has now been scheduled a week earlier as the headliner in Brooklyn.The flyweight title fight will be at a UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ which is of great significance as it’s the first in a multi-year broadcasting deal between UFC and ESPN .

The following deal came into existence after UFC ended their longtime broadcast deal with Fox which started way back in 2011.

UFC President Dana White spoke to the media recently about the scheduling of the Cejudo-Dillashaw fight at Brooklyn

Dana White stated,“We did it last time when we launched, too.” White was referring to the network television debut of UFC on FOX back in 2011 headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.

On asked about the the problems TJ Dillashaw can have in his weight cut down for the 125 lbs title,White stated ,”“I don’t worry about a lot of that stuff.These guys are professionals. Dillashaw has been around for a long time and knows what he’s doing.”
