UFC president Dana White was impressed by the performance Tyson Fury put against Deontay Wilder last month.
Tyson Fury avenged the controversial draw from his first fight against Deontay Wilder on 22nd February. The Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury knocked out Wilder in the seventh round to become the new WBC champion.
Dana White said that he was impressed by Fury’s performance and also took a dig at Wilder’s costume and said that UFC doesn’t allow such theatrics.
“I think there’s a lot to it. Fury looked awesome,” White told TMZ.
“Fury fought a perfect fight. But, if you think about boxing and fights when fighters are getting ready, they’re in the back. They’re relaxing. Some guys sleep. Some guys just lay around and chill. Then you get up, you time it out, do your warm-up. Then you throw something on to stay warm. You don’t put all this gear on and all this stuff. That’s why I don’t do any of that bullshit in the UFC. I don’t like it. I don’t like any of that.”
“The reason he lost is ’cause Fury is a bad-ass boxer, and he fought the perfect fight that night and executed his game plan.”
Dana White ‘would love’ Tyson Fury to make a switch to MMA
Tyson Fury has previously expressed interest in fighting inside the Octagon and revealed that he was in talks with Conor McGregor to train him.
“I’m excited to see him no matter where he goes. If he wants to fight in the UFC, I would love it. I’m excited to see what’s next for him in boxing.”
