It goes without saying that Conor McGregor is arguably the biggest star in the sports. His stardom and fame seem to have only been increasing every passing day. He is a money minting machine for the UFC, which is proven by the fact that everytime he steps inside the cage he sells record Pay-per-view buys and stages staggering numbers at the gate.
His last PPV broke UFC record and before that he was involved in a mega-fight with Boxing star Floyd Mayweather which ended up being the second biggest grossing fight in the history of any combat sports.
Who wouldn’t want Conor McGregor? He is a dream of every promoter, but Dana White has an issue with McGregor and only one.
He told in an interview to Barstool Sports that his only issue with Conor McGregor is that he isn’t punctual. McGregor rarely shows up on time and he was even late to the press conference with his mega-fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“Is Conor hard to deal with here and there? Yeah but he’s worth it,” White said of the Irish MMA superstar (transcript via SportsJOE.ie). “If people ask me what’s the biggest problem you have with Conor? It’s not showing up on time.
“We’re a global sport so when we do these press conferences, we’re on television networks all over the world that are taking this press conference. So they’re live and they’re ready to go and if Conor doesn’t show up for another 30 minutes, it’s a problem.
“We’ve got to fill the time and not only fill the time but keep people interested and get them willing to stick around which is tough to do these days.”
Well, Dana White isn’t very wrong considering Conor McGregor is never on time.
