Dana White on Conor McGregor: He may really never fight again

Conor McGregor last fought at UFC 229 in October of 2018 against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The fight, however, was extremely one-sided as the Irish superstar suffered a submission loss in the fourth round.

Ever since then, McGregor has expanded his whiskey business, retired and then announced that he will be coming back. But there have been numerous speculations that because UFC pay-per-view has moved from traditional PPV model to ESPN PPV model where fans have to purchase PPV from ESPN+ app, and UFC getting a specific amount of money per PPV event from ESPN, many stars like Conor McGregor and Brock Lesnar don’t want to return back to the Octagon.

However, recently Dana White gave an interview to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, where he revealed that Conor McGregor might never fight again.

“what did I say leading up to the Mayweather vs McGregor fight?…….that they may never fight again?….and how many times has he fought since then…..Once….Conor is in a very unique position as a fighter, He has tons of money, his whiskey business is off the charts,”White said.

“Conor now has the ability to be calculative, seat back and play the game like he wants to ……there’s so much more to this than what people speculate,” White concluded.
