The BMF title has taken on a life of its own since its introduction in November 2019 when Jorge Masvidal TKO’d Nate Diaz at UFC 244. Initially expected to be a one-and-done affair, the BMF belt made a comeback almost four years later at UFC 291 when Justin Gaethje knocked out Dustin Poirier to claim the vacant title. Gaethje then defended it against Max Holloway at UFC 300 in April but was knocked out in the last second of an iconic battle.
Now, UFC CEO Dana White has teased that the next BMF fight is already in the works. During the UFC 302 post-fight news conference, White confirmed, “We’re working on the BMF title right now.”

Dana White Opens up on Topuria vs Holloway Bout
Holloway, who is expected to be next in line for featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, has demanded that the BMF title also be on the line for their fight. White responded positively to Topuria’s demands, saying.
“It doesn’t rub me (the wrong way) at all. I love that people love that belt and want to fight for it. We’re working on a lot of stuff right now, with The Sphere event coming up in September and Madison Square Garden in November. We’ll get it figured out.” Dana White said.
It will be interesting to see whether Max Holloway goes up against Iia Topuria or will defend his BMF title against some other challenger. Whatever the case maybe one thing is for sure the BMF title is special and the fight to acquire that title will be special too. These comments from Dana White have excited Combat Sports fans from around the world as they expect yet another high-voltage fight soon.
