UFC 245 is a wrap! The last PPV event of 2019 probably proved to be one of the best with three title fights featuring a welterweight grudge match between champion Kamaru Usman and challenger Colby Covington.

Predominantly known for their wrestling pedigrees, Usman and Covington had different plans. The duo absolutely unleashed a volume of strikes on each other until Usman was able to close the show in the final minute of the fight via TKO.

Speaking with ESPN, UFC President Dana White has plans laid out for both main event participants. Despite the owner of the ‘BMF belt’ adamant on his desire of big money fights which may not necessarily be title fights, White believes Jorge Masvidal is next in line for the belt. (via YouTube):

“Masvidal verses Usman now is a big deal. He fought [Nate] Diaz for the ‘BMF’ belt, now he’ll fight for the actual title against a guy who is tough as nails. It’s fun.”

White on the other hand, had an equally worthy opponent for Covington, former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Woodley has been on the sidelines since losing his belt against Usman back at UFC 235 in March. However White believes if Covington has suffered a broken jaw, he would have to ‘take care’ of himself first.

White also had an interesting plan for the co-main winner. Stepping inside the octagon as a heavy underdog, Alexander Volkanovski pulled off a major upset defeating long time reigning champ Max Holloway.

White said he won’t change the dancing partner but will give the fight an another dimension. A rematch in Volkanovski’s home country Australia. UFC 243 in Australia last October, made the record for the highest attendance ever. Hence the market aspect intrigues president White.

“He looked good, and that market is massive for us, so maybe we do that rematch in Australia,” White said. “I don’t know – that’s just off the top of my head.”
