UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and MMA superstar Nate Diaz have been constantly flirting around about the possibility of a potential fight between the two. However, UFC President Dana White has again shot down the idea of a potential fight and also claimed that the champion, Woodley is “full of s**t”.

Tyron Woodley last defended his belt against the crafty BJJ master Demian Maia at UFC 214. He has since been on the sidelines after a successful shoulder surgery. On the other hand, Diaz hasn’t fought inside the octagon in over a year. The Stockton native last fought and lost against bitter rival Conor McGregor at UFC 202.

Woodley had recently claimed that he was in discussions to fight Diaz at UFC 226. He told ESPN that the fight was much more likely to happen than people think. Diaz also came out and said that he is interested in fighting Woodley and that the Welterweight kingpin is his best option for a UFC return.

Woodley and Diaz openly talking about a potential bout had generated a lot of hype. However, the UFC president has quickly shot down the idea of a bout and has revealed that Rafael dos Anjos will be the next in line to challenge for Woodley’s belt. Here’s what White had to say about the idea of a Woodley vs. Diaz bout:

“[Woodley’s] full of sh*t, that fight was never made, you couldn’t be more wrong, he couldn’t be more full of sh*t, and it’s absolutely not true. It’s so not true that our lawyer hit him up today and said he needs to stop saying these kind of things, because it’s absolutely not true.

Dos Anjos is the fight we’re looking at for Woodley, that’s the fair fight, he just won a great fight against Robbie Lawler and looked good and what I love about that fight is dos Anjos will bring it. He will come after Tyron Woodley and it will be a great fight. That’s the fight that’s gonna happen.”

Woodley seems to be quite confident about a bout against Diaz. Though, White ridiculing the notion of a potential fight between the two would have certainly dented the hopes of a lot of fans. The situation about Woodley’s next title defense will likely get sorted out in the coming weeks.
