Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently got sentenced to a 15-months suspension by USADA. Jon Jones is now eligible to make his octagon return fifteen months after failing the second drug test at UFC 214 in his fight against Daniel Cormier. Jon Jones’s samples had tested positive for Turinabol, a banned substance.
However, he is all set to make a comeback on Dec. 29 at UFC 232, Where he is scheduled to fight Alexander Gustafsson at the T-Mobile Arena in a rematch.
Before the ban, it was a common knowledge that Jon Jones was the best fighter in UFC and was regarded as pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world. Even Dana White agrees with that and he went as far as saying that Jon Jones is the greatest talent UFC has ever seen.
“That’s the question. And that is a great question. If he can come back and win the title after everything he has been through, it would be tough to deny he would be the greatest ever,” said Dana White speaking to ESPN. “We can talk about how Jon Jones could have been the greatest, and if he comes back and does this it is hard to deny.”
Keeping his out of octagon antics aside, Jon Jones has had a steller Mixed Martial Arts career and he has a resume to back it up.
He has beaten Cormier twice, Gustafsson, Chael Sonnen, Glover Teixeira, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Shogun Rua, Ryan Bader etc.
“He’s the greatest talent we have ever seen,” White said.
