Dana White- one of the most prominent names in the fight game, has himself entangled his name in a fight- and that too, with none other than his wife Anne, at a nightclub in New York on New Year’s Eve- and now the couple are opening up on it.
“There’s never ever an excuse” says Dana White, Anne tells “nothing like this has ever happened before”
The UFC prez, who has been married to Anne White for 26 years, was celebrating the new year with his wife and friends at El Squid Roe, but the celebratory mood was quickly spoilt as an unforeseen incident took place at the nightclub.
According to TMZ Sports, eyewitness reported that the altercation started when Dana had leaned over and said something to Anne, who responded by slapping her husband. Dana, in turn, returned her a slap, just before their friends got involved and separated them. Heavy intoxication has been understood as the main reason for things to have escalated so quickly between Mr and Mrs White.
“You’ve heard me say for years, ‘There’s never ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman,’ and now here I am on TMZ talking about it,” Dana told TMZ, as well as adding that the ‘horrible’ incident was very embarrassing, especially since their three kids are also aware of it.
“Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years,” Anne added, “To say this is out of character for him is an understatement — nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides. We’ve talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
