Daniel Cormier breaks down a potential Jon Jones vs Israel Adesanya fight

Israel Adesanya knocked out Robert Whittaker in the second round to become the new undisputed UFC middleweight champion of the world at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia at UFC 243 main event.

Now that Adesanya has beaten Whittaker, his next fight will be against No.1 contender i.e Paulo Costa, who was even present at the Marvel Stadium. However, despite all of this, Adesanya already has his eyes set on UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Both fighters have traded words on social media and have gone back and forth at each other for months now. Adesanya has even said that they will fight in 2021 at the under-construction Raiders Stadium in Las Vegas.

Former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion of the world Daniel Cormier talked about a potential future fight between the pairs on his ESPN post-fight show.

He’s just small. He’s just small for Jones. Jones is a big guy and I think people underestimate how big he is. When he grabs you, because he’s so big up top — they make fun of how small his legs are — but he’s 225lbs. But a lot of the weight is up top. He’s so long that he almost like hangs on you. It’s like a towel when you’re in the clinch and I think Izzy may struggle with that because Jones is so big.”

I would not mind watching them fight because if Jones has to stand with this guy he’s in trouble. Jones is very hittable. But Izzy needs to get a lot bigger if he’s going to fight this guy.”

How do you guys think a future fight between Jones and Adesanya will turn out to be?
