With just 20 days left for 2019 to end, the worlds largest Mixed Martial Arts corporation UFC is geared for the final two fight cards of the year and with the holiday season nearing, Daniel Cormier took to twitter and commended the UFC for a lovely gesture they did in 2012.

Daniel Cormier, UFC, Dana White

Former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion of the world, Daniel Cormier recalled how the UFC sent him a $10,000 holiday bonus cheque just 10 days before Christmas.

Getting ready for Xmas holidays reminds me of 2012 and 15 days before Xmas the @ufc sends me a 10k holiday bonus check. No reason for it but I remember thinking wow this was my fight purse before. We really do work for a beautiful company. Thank you guys. DC,” Daniel Cormier tweeted.

Even former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping recalled the similar incident which took place in 2006, where Dana White sent him a cheque.

I remember Dana did the same thing to me. Sent me a check in 2006 when I hadn’t fought for a while due to visa issues and he thought I’d be struggling financially: he was correct and it was very, very much appreciated,” Michael Bisping tweeted.

While many praised Dana White for his lovely gesture, there were numerous fight fans who questioned White on fighters pay and the most recent incident where UFC released Liz Carmouche after she competed for the title.

Former UFC fighter Nate Quarry replied to Michael Bisping stating that he should be supporting the Ali Expansion Act and with that fighters won’t have to depend on the promoter’s kindness.

With the Ali Expansion Act fighter’s wouldn’t have to rely on random acts of kindness from promoters. The free market would allow them to get paid what they deserve. Hence why boxers regularly get 85% of the gross income and UFC fighters get 15%. Love to have you in DC with us,” Quarry tweeted.
