Things are about to heat up in the UFC heavyweight division as UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier hints return of his best friend and former heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez.
Cain Velasquez is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights. Unfortunately, Cain hasn’t been active over the last two years, as he has been sidelined by series of injuries.
A few hours ago, Daniel Cormier posted a picture of Cain Velasquez with the caption ‘The return of the king!’ hinting comeback of Cain Velasquez.
The post shared by Daniel Cormier showed Cain Velasquez training in the gym with the caption “2019, The return of the king! Heavyweights get ready! Your belt is waiting for you champ!“

Cain Velasquez hasn’t competed since July 2016. He last fought against Travis Browne in UFC 200, where he won via first-round knockout. Back in June of 2015, Cain Velasquez lost to Fabricio Werdum via submission (guillotine choke).
Cain Velasquez (MMA 14-2, UFC 12-2) has been healthy for a year but he is having some contractual issues with the UFC. As Daniel Cormier seems to be retiring next year, it’s possible Cain Velasquez could be on his way back to the Octagon.
