Daniel Cormier, UFC color commentator and former two division champion, has reached out to Francis Ngannou, congratulating him for securing the Tyson Fury fight as well as apologizing to him for the earlier comments about his departure from the UFC.

Cormier was one of the leading names who criticized Ngannou for his spat with the UFC. The former heavyweight champ was unsatisfied with his salary at the promotion and after fighting out of his contract, rejected an offer speculated to be make him the “highest paid UFC heavyweight in history” and instead, joined PFL with an urge to make boxing debut.
Back in May, DC had stated that coming back to the UFC would be the best option for “The Predator” should return to the UFC, claiming him having “limited options”. However, following the announcement of Fury vs. Ngannou in November in Saudi Arabia, Cormier praised Ngannou and also apologized to him on his ESPN show DC & RC.
“First off, I’m sorry, Francis,” said Cormier.“I want to fumble your bag, too, Francis. Can I ask you a question? Do you have to be a little bit naive to go out in that world like that and know your value to the point that you will even, when it looked dark, to stand on your loyal and go, ‘It’ll happen for me.’”

“Francis had just enough of that, and now he finds himself – he’s going to make more money than he ever could have imagined making in his entire life because, guess what? They’re fighting in Saudi Arabia, which, somehow, literally just bought the PGA. … Francis and Tyson Fury are going to make so much money, it’s crazy,” Cormier went on. “It’s a crazy, crazy turn of events for Francis Ngannou, but we are both insanely happy for him.
