Chael Sonnen, the outspoken former UFC fighter, recently found himself in a social media storm after his X account was hacked. The hacker wasted no time, posting tweets that took aim at some high-profile targets, including Jon Jones and UFC CEO Dana White. But it was Daniel Cormier who had the last laugh during the latest episode of their ESPN show, “Good Guy / Bad Guy.”

Cormier, a UFC Hall of Famer, playfully ribbed Chael Sonnen about the incident, saying, “So, we get these notifications, I think it’s called two-step security, Chael, have you ever heard of it?..” He went on to express mock concern about Sonnen’s mental state, jokingly suggesting that the controversial tweets were a sign that Sonnen had “gone off the rails.”

Chael Sonnen, in his typical witty fashion, shared his side of the story. He revealed that even his wife fell for the hacker’s ruse, thinking he was the one behind the offensive tweets. “It’s a little hard to backtrack when your own people think that it’s you,” Sonnen quipped.

The hacker’s clever move was to delete some of the tweets, making it appear as if Sonnen himself had sent them. As Chael Sonnen pointed out, hackers rarely feel remorse for their actions, especially when they can create such chaos.

Chael Sonnen Wants To Give Conor McGregor the “Fight of The Year” Award?

In the same episode, Chael Sonnen and Cormier also discussed their mid-year awards, with Sonnen giving Conor McGregor the nod for “Fight of the Year.” The reason? McGregor’s absence from a fight allegedly due to a discolored pinky toe—an unusual excuse that caught Sonnen’s attention.

While the hacking incident caused a stir, it also provided some lighthearted banter between two MMA legends. As Sonnen put it, “You’ve got to give credit to the hacker; they really knew how to stir the pot!”.
