The UFC Lightheavy weight champion Daniel Cormier just weighed in at 246lbs, which is 3 pounds heavier than his opponent and the undisputed heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. This is 4o pounds heavier than his usual weigh-ins for the light heavyweight bouts.
A forty pound increase in weight on par with his previous fight can create a huge difference in any fighters performance, but the former Olympic wrestler turned MMA fighter Cormier has prior experience of competing with heavyweights during his Strikeforce days and also has a long history of sparring with his training partner and former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez during training camps.
Stipe Miocic (242.5lbs) and Daniel Cormier (246lbs) have both made weight. The #UFC226 main event for the heavyweight championship is officially on.

The 39 years old Cormier, who has expressed the idea of retiring soon is clearly having fun preparing for this fight because there are no worries about the dreadful weight cutting. But on the other hand, he should definitely be concerned about Stipe’s heavy hands which can a history of shutting the lights out of off majority of the UFC heavyweight roster.
