The path ahead for a championship fight at 170 pounds in the UFC seemed very straightforward. The champ Tyron Woodley was on the shelf with an injury after last defending his belt at UFC 214 against Damian Maia. So the UFC brought in an interim title, which Colby Covington won in a dominating fashion against Rafael Dos Anjos.
So when everything seemed in order for a final showdown to unify the two belts, in comes top welterweight challenger Darren Till with a news that only he seems to be knowing.

Till initially asked Woodley to ‘accept the fight’, to which “T-Wood” said that he hadn’t been offered anything.
What fight? Ain’t nobody offer me shit. Thought Qweefington was getting smashed next. Y’all challenger need to coordinate y’all ass whipping better! https://t.co/iRAuRm84uf

Till, then, hinted that the interim champion is “out” and its just him and Woodley left.
Colby out son, it’s me & you now. Accept the fight!!

Till had positioned himself in line for a shot after his win over ‘Wonderboy’ at UFC Liverpool in May.
While its all speculations right now, it would be interesting to watch what unfolds if Covington is actually out and whether Till gets his run at the gold or not.
