Two of the greatest MMA fighters of all time and longtime rival Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell will face off against each other on Nov. 24 in a fight scheduled to be broadcast on PPV at the Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Chuck Liddell who is 48 years old hasn’t fought since 2010 after getting knocked out brutally thrice and on the other hand. Tito Ortiz, however, has been fairly active between the time period Liddell retired. He fought nine times in eight years, with his most recent outing being a submission victory over Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170 in January 2017.

De La Hoya’s advice to Dana White: ‘Don’t tell fighters to retire. It’s in their blood’

However, Dana White has previously made it clear that he doesn’t want to see Chuck Liddell fight Tito Ortiz a third time at the inaugural Golden Boy promotions MMA event. Oscar De La Hoya has got a lot to say about White’s perception on this trilogy fight.

Being a fighter myself, I would never, ever, like somebody to tell me that I should retire,” De La Hoya told MMAjunkie in an interview. “You never tell a fighter to retire. That’s his business. It’s the fighter’s business.

Imagine if I would have told George Foreman to retire. Imagine if I would have told Bernard Hopkins at 51 years old to retire. He would have never won the world title. Imagine somebody tells Floyd (Mayweather), you’re already 40 years old, you should retire. You don’t tell fighters to retire. It’s in their blood. It’s in their heart.

He also said that Chuck Liddell has earned it and wants UFC president Dana White to sit back and enjoy it.

Chuck Liddell has earned it,” he said. “He’s looking in phenomenal shape; he’s training like there’s no tomorrow. He wants to build a team and have this trilogy with Tito, which I strongly feel is going to be one of the best trilogies that have ever taken place in the MMA world. So let it be.

Let’s let them enjoy it.

Who do you think wins this trilogy fight between two MMA legends.
