Deiveson Figueiredo made the second title defense of his flyweight title against Brandon Moreno at UFC 256. The duo went to war and gave each other a tough battle. After five rounds of back-and-forth fighting, the fight was announced a majority draw. Figueiredo had a point taken from him by referee Jason Herzog in the 3rd round for a low blow. The point deduction proved crucial as it turned two 48-47 scorecards in his favour into even 47-47 decisions, with the third judge seeing the fight 48-46 for the champion.

Deiveson Figueiredo then fought Moreno in a rematch on June 12, 2021, at UFC 263. He lost the fight via a rear-naked choke submission in round three.

A trilogy battle with Brandon Moreno for the UFC Flyweight Championship was scheduled on December 11, 2021, at UFC 269 initially, but it was later moved to UFC 270. The bout was another fight of the year contender and this time it was Deiveson Figueiredo who came up with an improved game plan and got the decision win. He won the bout via unanimous decision and become a two-time UFC Flyweight champion. After the fight, he immediately stated that he is ready to fight Brandon Moreno for the fourth time.

“It was 4-1,” Figueiredo told reporters including MMA Junkie at a UFC 270 post-fight news conference. “I mean, there were five knockdowns. It was 4-1. They could’ve just given me every round.”

“Crybaby,” Figueiredo said of Moreno. “Let’s go to the next one, man. Let’s take it up (during) the next one.”

“Yeah, I initially said Mexico,” Figueiredo said. “But I think if we go to Mexico… we might not leave. So I think that we’re considering Brazil might be a better option. … (With Mexican fans), I can definitely feel the warmth. I love when people yell at me and just swear at me. I love Mexico so much. I cherish it so much that I’m going to make a video for him eating burritos and saying how much I love Mexico, all right? I wanted to knock him out and I felt the crowd was feeling it. If it wasn’t for those 30 seconds, I think I would’ve done it.”

He also said later that he wants $1 million dollars for his fourth fight against Brandon Moreno.
